Process

Five stages, one continuous conversation.

Building a home is deeply personal, and the process should feel as considered as the home itself. Our role is to guide each stage with clarity, care and calm, bringing together design, budget, performance and craftsmanship in one continuous conversation. From the first ideas through to life after handover, we help you make informed decisions with confidence. Every step is shaped with intention, so the experience feels thoughtful, transparent and beautifully resolved.

Stage 01

Conversation

We begin by listening. Before we talk about drawings, costs or construction, we take the time to understand what has brought you to this point, how you live, what you value, and what you want your home to become. We explore your site, your brief, your budget and the feeling you want to create. Some clients come to us with early ideas, others with plans already underway; either way, we can start this process from scratch with you or collaborate with your design team you have already worked hard with. This first stage is about establishing trust, direction and a shared understanding of what matters most.

Stage 02

Feasibility

A beautiful home also needs to be practical, achievable and aligned with its site. During feasibility, we look closely at the opportunities and constraints that will shape the project — orientation, landscape, climate, access, performance goals, planning considerations and early cost expectations. We help test the design intent against the budget before too many decisions are locked in. For high-performance homes, this may also include early Passive House modelling and advice around comfort, health, energy use and buildability. It is a thoughtful checkpoint that allows the vision to move forward with confidence.

Stage 03

Pre-construction

Pre-construction is where intent becomes detail. Guided by our design team, we refine the drawings, materials, selections, specifications and construction approach into one clear, considered plan. If you already have an architect or designer involved, we collaborate closely with them to protect the design intent while bringing cost clarity, buildability and performance into focus. Every element is reviewed with care, from the way the home will feel day to day, to how it will function, endure and perform over time. We prepare a detailed, itemised pricing proposal so you can understand the build before it begins. By the time we move to contract, the design, budget and programme are aligned, and the project is ready to begin with certainty.

Stage 04

Build

This is where your home begins to take shape. On site, our core team and long-standing trades bring the design to life with care, precision and respect for the work that has come before. We keep you informed through regular updates, site meetings, a live schedule and clear communication around progress, decisions and variations. Our approach is calm and methodical, with a focus on craftsmanship, performance and the smallest details that make a home feel resolved. The build is not just about construction; it is about protecting the intent of the design from the first day on site to the final finish.

Stage 05

Handover & Aftercare

Handover is a considered transition into living in your new home. Before completion, we carefully review the details, walk you through the home and provide the information you need to understand its systems, finishes, warranties and care requirements. For high-performance homes, we also help you understand how the home is designed to support comfort, air quality, energy efficiency and wellbeing. Our relationship continues after you move in, we stay available to you as life within it begins, we are there for support, answer questions and we stand by the quality of your new home. The result is not just a completed project, but a home that feels effortless, enduring and entirely yours.
