SV Built was founded on a simple belief: if you're going to commission a home once in your life, it should be comfortable in every season, healthier to live in than the one before it, and ready for the next fifty years. Everything we do points at that.
Position
Passive House first. Everything else follows.
Most Australian homes are still built like the climate doesn't change inside them. We design every home we build to Passive House principles — airtight, well-insulated, mechanically ventilated, and modelled for thermal performance before the drawings are locked.
The difference isn't cosmetic. It's a home that sits at an even temperature through 40-degree summers and cool winter mornings, that's quiet because airtightness blocks noise, and that brings filtered fresh air into every room without opening a window.
We don't treat it as a premium tier. It's the baseline we start from — you can pay to exceed it, but you never have to fight for it.
Health
Air you can feel is cleaner.
Indoor air in a typical new-build is measurably worse than the air outside. VOCs from paints, sealants and cabinetry; mould from condensation; dust from uncontrolled infiltration.
We specify materials, finishes and adhesives with indoor air quality as a design constraint — and we pair them with heat-recovery ventilation that continuously filters and exchanges the air inside the home.
Clients with asthma, allergies, or small children notice the difference within a week. It's the feature we talk about least in marketing and hear about most after handover.
Craft
A small number of homes a year. On purpose.
We take on a deliberately small slate each year — it's the only way to stay close to the detail, to the trades we work with, and to the clients we build for.
You get the same site manager from day one to handover. The same carpenters. The same finishing crew. The same directors on call when a decision needs making.
It's a business model that doesn't scale — which is precisely the point.
