SV Built was born from a belief that the building industry could do better. Better quality. Better communication. Better standards. Better outcomes for the people who have trusted us with one of the biggest investments of their lives.

Over the last decade, we have dedicated ourselves to perfecting our craft and raising the standard of custom home building. Delivering beautifully finished homes comes naturally to us, but our focus goes much deeper than appearance. We are future-focused, building sustainable, high-performing and healthy homes that are backed by research, building science, performance modelling, certification and rigorous testing — not just marketing language.

A truly comfortable and healthy home is not created from a standard set of plans or minimum requirements. It is designed and built with intention, using real data, proven principles and a deep understanding of how buildings actually perform. We either build to the exacting standards of the Passive House Standard or incorporate these principles into all of our homes — creating spaces that support the health, comfort and wellbeing of their occupants while reducing their impact on the planet.

We constantly invest time into learning, researching and investigating better building methods and technologies from around the world, so we can stay at the forefront of high-performance construction. Our founder and director, Emile, has travelled extensively to understand what the highest standards of building look like and how those standards can be applied here in South Australia.

We are intentionally small. As a boutique team, we only take on a handful of projects each year so we can protect our standards, stay closely connected to each build, and give every client the relationship and attention they deserve.

There is a saying within the high-performance building community that the National Construction Code represents the lowest standard of home you are legally allowed to build. While blunt, it reflects exactly why SV Built exists. Homes should be healthier, more comfortable, more durable, more efficient and better built than the standard. Quality is not an outcome we hope for — it is something we plan for, build for and protect at every stage. That is the standard we hold ourselves to.

Emile has more than 15 years of experience in the construction industry, including over a decade leading the custom home building business now known as SV Built.

He entered the industry with a simple but powerful aim: to build better. With a natural curiosity for how things go together, a love of detail, and a constant desire to understand the “why” behind every decision, he has shaped SV Built around considered craftsmanship and continuous improvement.

His approach is driven by the belief that exceptional outcomes are not created by chance. They are the result of hundreds of small decisions made with care from the very beginning — through design, planning, construction and communication.

Emile has never been satisfied with the phrase “that's just how we do it.” His curiosity has led him to study better building practices, explore high-performance construction, and travel internationally to understand what the highest standards of building can look like.

Known for his calm and caring nature, Emile guides clients through one of the biggest decisions of their lives with honesty, patience and respect. His approach is simple: to inform, support and care for clients in the way he would hope to be treated himself.

Quiet by nature, considered in his approach, and deeply committed to the people around him, Emile brings a rare mix of technical knowledge, craftsmanship and genuine care to every SV Built project.

Aaron began his career as a highly skilled carpenter, learning his craft from an older-generation tradesman who valued patience, precision and doing things properly. Many of the skills he developed during those early years are becoming increasingly rare in modern construction.

With extensive experience building high-end homes across Adelaide, Aaron brings a level of knowledge, care and practical expertise that is central to the quality SV Built is known for.

He has built strong relationships with our clients, suppliers and trades, earning a reputation as a trusted leader on site. His attention to detail, calm leadership and commitment to quality perfectly complement the values of SV Built.

Aaron plays an essential role in ensuring our homes are delivered with the care, precision and consistency our clients expect — and in making the building process feel as considered as the finished home.

Haylee began her career working for a residential builder, an early experience that gave her a genuine understanding of how a home is built and how design decisions inform the success of a project. It is a skill set she has spent a decade developing and one that sits at the centre of her expertise.

She went on to work across large-scale commercial projects in education and defence, gaining experience on complex, high-specification work. But it was the human side of residential construction that kept pulling her back, the relationships built over the course of a project and the quiet satisfaction of seeing a home finished and lived in.

Haylee has also extended her skills from building design and interior design all the way to landscape design, working from the belief that what happens outside a home deserves the same consideration as what happens within it. Most clients arrive with a sense of how they want their home to feel. Haylee's role is to help realise that through design decisions, bringing those ideas into focus and pulling them back when the process drifts. She approaches every project with patience, honesty and a genuine interest in producing homes that reflect their owners and their visions.
